Too old for BMX?

Hi everone what's up? I need some opinions on a question I have. When I was a kid in like 1st or 2nd grade I got in to BMX and loved it. got really good at it, right until I got my drivers license at 16 then I just stopped doing it (really wish I didn't). Well I'm 29 now and I'm married and got 2 kids, ages 3 and 5. I want to start riding again, pretty much so I can spend more time with my kids and share the same hobby as them. I just feel that BMX is for younger people and I shouldn't be riding? So is 29 too old.

Never to Old to RIDE!!! Troy Tyro is still riding isn't he? He was good back in the 80's even beat Matt Hoffman. He and James Bishop used to tear it up. Last time I talked to Troy he was still throwing down.

Well, after over 20 years out of the sport, I'm finally returning. Since I just turned 40, I'm ok being the old guy....just not the FAT old guy. So, instead of going to a gym, I'm coming back to my first love. I understand what you mean, though...it's the stigma of everyone looking at you and wondering what you're doing riding a "kids" bike. It's something that will probably never go away. I will say that pain hurts a little more than I remember, and wounds take a little longer to heal, but I'm willing to bet that the quality time you get to spend with your kids will stick in their minds long after the "toys" other Dads got their kids are gone. (And, besides, you'll be one of the "cool" Dads the other kids wish they had.

Giver a go, the benefits are all positive!!

NEVER too old to ride. I first rode when I was 36...won't tell you how old I am now, though LOL! My son was racing, so I figured I would give it a try. It's a blast!

Trying to get a track built in Maine. Visit www.MEBMX.com for ****. We can use help!

NO way man, I have been riding BMX since I was a kid and got out of it to ride motocross. I recently went to a track in NC and met dave mirra and by talking to him, made me get back into it. I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things, but all in due time. Stick with it and stay motivated.
